Bro. Subhash David Magade received diaconate from Most Rev. Elias Gonsalves, Bishop of Amravati on 2nd December, 2012 at St. Francis Cathedral, Amravati. 

Apostolic Nuncio Visit
















Apostolic Nuncio H.E. Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio along with Archbishop Abraham Viruthakulangara visited St. Charles’ Seminary on 26th November, 2012. He Celebrated Holy Eucharist, attended a cultural programme presented by seminarians and planted a tree in grotto compound.

                                                   Fr Paul  Mondoth OP  
A Dominican;  part of his life was spent in pastoral ministry; while doing pastoral ministry, he built a parish church for the Dominicans in Delhi which is now a very active parish at Vasant Vihar. He was also a  Formator. He completed his MSW degree in Mangalore. Presently he is in our Priory, St Dominic’s Ashram overcoming the effects of a stroke.



Fr. Glenn Morris  OP   
A familiar person on the hill. He taught Philosophy several years;  3 terms Rector of St Charles Seminary; able administrator;  a humourous and affable  person;  presently working our Dominican University Angelicum, Rome as the General Secretary of the University; It was he who started the custom of inviting the 40 year Ex-Carolians on this occasion and he has made it a point to come all the way from Rome to  in this Ex-Carolians Meet.



25 years

Bishop Thomas Macwan    
He is from Bhav Nagar – was working in the State Bank of Saurashtra for 9 years before joining the Seminary. He did both his philosophy and theology here; he was a member of the Seminary Choir all  the years as a student here. His fields of interest –handball, hockey and photography;  after  priestly ordination he worked as In-charge of a Boarding House which had 110 boys. He did  his Licentiate in Spirituality at Angelicum.  He was a pastor for 15 years and he was appointed as the Bishop of Ahmadabad on 11 January, 2003 – and now it is ten years as bishop. To strengthen the faith of the people he introduces a theme each year in the Diocese, like Year of Rosary, Year of Reconciliation, Year of the Bible, Year of the Eucharist, Year of Children, Year of Youth and now Year of faith… Again as part of faith formation, he encourages each parish to celebrate the parish Feast in a large scale with Novena etc.  As part of pastoral planning for the diocese, he has initiated 10 English medium schools. His motto as a bishop is:  ‘Call to serve and preach the good news’.




Fr Sameer Baptist   Nagpur 

After his priestly ordination  he worked as a hostel warden, Estate manager of the Archdiocese. He has  completed his Master Degree in Philosophy.  In his priestly ministry he has realized that communion with Jesus in the Eucharist is the greatest source of strength to go through the difficult moments of one’s priestly mission.




                                    Fr Stephen Rawat   Udaipur  
He did his philosophy and theology here. He had great interest in sports especially  Football and Hockey; he was also a sprinter, 100 mts runner; was Games President in the seminary. His interest also extends to cultural activities; he was an actor. He was known as the entertainer in the seminary.  He feels that seminary was a real home. He used to do Hindi preaching at Jaripatka and Cathedral. As a priest he was into School-ministry for 8 years; he was Director of Youth in the Diocese; also worked as Social Work Director for 5years. He has done 2 years of Media Studies at Niscot, Delhi.





Fr Anto Kaitharath  SAC
His first appointment was at Ranchi as an assistant parish priest and Principal of a Hindi medium school. After that he did his Licentiate in Canon Law at St Peter’s  Bangalore. In 2002, he completed his Doctoral degree in Canon Law in Rome. Presently he is the Judicial Vicar of the archdiocese of Nagpur.  He has the unique distinction of establishing the Pallotti Engineering College in Nagpur which is presently the best engineering college in the city.





                                                         Fr. Irudayraj    Patna 
He was into parish ministry for about 7 years ; he was also the Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre. Presently he is into Charismatic Preaching ministry. He also worked as the Vice-Rector of the Minor Seminary. He feels that if we are not led by the Holy Spirit, our priestly life is meaningless. All our studies and means of communications will not make us an effective priest unless we become a man of God. If a priest is concerned about the glory of God, then God will allow miracles to take place in our ministry.



Fr Babu K      Raipur 
After his priestly ordination, he had 4 years of parish ministry. Presently he is the principal of Bharat Mata School , Bilaspur.  His focus is on missionary activity of the Church; wherever the direct evangelization is not possible, new methods of evangelization is to be evolved. He is in favour of making use of all the modern technologies to spread the gospel.




                Fr Derrick Pinto  Bareilly 
‘If you don’t want to love God and love the poor, please pack up your bag and go home’. As  a student I remember him as a very active player at the basket-ball court.  Fr. Derrick had 10 years of Parish ministry; he worked as the Director of Social activities in the diocese after the completion of MSW degree.  Presently he is the Rector of Minor Seminary, Bareilly. F r Derrick takes lots of interest to bring together his classmates for get-to-gether. He feels that ‘one should see flowers among thorns rather than thorns among flowers’.



Fr Justus Paul OP 
Fr. Justus Paul was the Rector of Seminary from 2003-07. He completed his Doctoral degree in Spirituality in Rome and a teaching staff in the Seminary. For some years he was the editor of In Christo religious quarterly. He also a charismatic preacher much sought after.  Now he is appointed as the Director of the Dominican Retreat cum Seminar Centre at Igatpuri. He is known for his kind and all-time available nature. For him a priest is one who reconciles people. He realized that he had been forgiven by people; so he also needs to forgive others





                          Fr Varkey Pandianmakil   Julandhar

In the seminary he was rather a quiet personality and soft spoken;  Generally happy with the formation programme. Presently he is a  Parish Priest at Amritsar; a few times he had been the Director of Schools.  



Fr. Michael Wagh   Belgaum
Studied Theology here; as a student he was doing his pastoral ministry at Utkhana Poor House; as a student he was much interested in sports like cricket, football and volley ball; after his priesthood he was appointed as the In-charge of Orphanage Boarding and In-charge of a parish school; later he worked as parish priest; presently he is working as principal of a school. He feels that the priest’s life is not a bed of roses; a constant contact with Jesus gives him the necessary strength.


Fr Paul Pullan OP  
Fr Paul Pullan is the Vice-Rector of this Seminary and a professor of Catechetics  for many years. He organizes the Pastoral ministry and Social activities for the brothers.  He counts on God’s grace for his faithful priestly life. He has great interest in direct evangelization and he goes every year to the North-East to spend three months in bringing men and women to Christ.




Fr Felix  Jack Xavier Monteiro    Belgaum
He did both Philosophy and Theology here; his interest in the field of Pastoral work;  he regularly visited the Railway Hospital Nagpur especially the burnt cases Ward. He was a member of Marathi Samaj and Mariam Samaj which took care of the Evening Mass at Grotto. After priesthood, he worked as the assistant parish priest and then he did the B Ed and got into school ministry; presently he is a principal of a School.


                                                                    
                                                  Fr Claudius Corda OP 
During his seminary days, he was noted for his helpful nature and love for the poor. Soon after his ordination he was appointed parish priest of our Dominican parish at Ashok Nagar Magalore. He was also parish priest of Rosary Parish Seminary Hill and parish sub-station at Ghansoli, Mumbai. During his appointment in Pachmari he did lot of work for the poor village people taking much risk on his health. Presently he is in Mangalore, Promoter of Vocations in South India.

            


Fr MV George  Jabalpur

Presently he is the Parish Priest of Anupur. Most of the time, he was manager of schools and thus engaged in school ministry. He feels that the priests must experience peace and joy among themselves and then share it with others.



                                                      Fr Lourd Raj  SAC   
He cherished all his seminary life; he enjoyed his studies especially Church History and Dogma; showed interest in games like, basket ball and Cricket. Most of his priestly life was spent in parish ministry and was close to the people. Presently he is the parish priest at Meenakshipuram. He also was into the ministry of counselling Alchoholics and Drug addicts.



Fr Thomas Champakatt   Delhi   

As a seminarian he appreciated  the pastoral exposure given to the brothers which was of great help for him in his priestly ministry.  Presently he is the parish priest of Faridabad. He thanks God that though he lost one of his vertibra, still he is walking around.  In his priestly ministry, he feels the great spiritual strength in Rosary for driving away the satan. He is also convinced of the power of the daily Eucharist.




                          Fr James Palackal    Changanasery  
He was a very student here; he took deep interest in studies; after priestly Ordination, he did his Licentiate in Leuven in Systematic Theology and later he completed his Doctorate in Rome. In his priestly ministry, he was appointed Minor Seminary Rector; he also served as  the Director of Missionary Orientation Centre for 11 years; for 2 years he was Director of a Retreat Centre; he also served as Archbisop’s Secretary for 3 years; presently he is the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Changanassery.


Fr Jesu Kani  Ahmedabad  
From the time of seminary he grew in the devotion to the Rosary which he keeps dear to heart even now. He felt that the opportunities given to him in the seminary were adequate and praiseworthy.  During his studies in theology, he was involved in doing social work in Gittikhadan, mainly building houses for the poor. In his diocese, he continues to do such charitable work especially for the migrants coming to the city. He is also the procurator of the Diocese.

                                                Fr. Sibi T.    Jabalpur 
As a student Fr Sibi appeared to be enjoying his seminary community life; he fully participated in all the activities in the seminary. His presence in the Basket ball court could not be missed. After his priestly ordination he had the taste of parish ministry, school ministry and social activities of the diocese. Presently he is the Administer of Diocesan Engineering College.




Fr Sebastian A    Patna  
He feels that seminary has offered several opportunities to develop his talents. He is very much enthusiastic about evangelization. I know him in the seminary as a very enthusiastic student eager to learn. He always appeared cheerful satisfied.





                                            Fr Praveen  D’Souza  OP

As a student he seemed to be an all-rounder. Along with his studies, he showed interest in games and cultural activities. After ordination he served as the secretary to the Provincial. After that he completed his Master degree in Philosophy and began to teach Philosophy. Now he is the Dean of Philosophy in St Charles Seminary. He also organizes a Summer Philosophy Course for two months for religious sisters and brothers and lay persons who has plans to do a full theology course.





Fr. Alexander    Jabalpur

In the seminary he found lots of opportunities to develop his talents. He is very grateful to the seminary for what he is now.  He feels the need of mastering the Bible in the life of a priest. In our preaching we must give the word of God above all else.



                                    Fr Jose Chakkalakal  Nagpur 
After his priestly ordination he was appointed Assistant Parish Priest  for 3 years and then he became Parish Priest at Byhar for 4 years. Presently the hostel warden at SFS college, Hall of Residence. During the years of priestly ministry, he developed intellectual interest by acquiring academic wings: he did his MA Sociology, MSW and M Phil. He is a very practical man when it comes to organizing the day to day issues of life.





 Fr. Regi Thomas    Sagar 
In 1998 he joined for theology and in 2003  April he was ordained. After his ordination, he was appointed in-charge of a mission station and also manager of a school. Later he did his Licentiate in Canon Law in Dharmaram college, Bangalore. For three years he has worked as parish priest. Presently he is managing a health centre and also a Tribal boarding house.
