The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes at St. Charles Seminary Hills has become a popular pilgrimage in Nagpur for Christians as well as non-Christians. This is because of the miracles and healings often take place here for the believers. To celebrate the feast with great devotion and joy this year, there was a spiritual preparation for the devotees in the form of novena and confessions at the grotto. On Saturday, 11 February was the last day of novena and was concluded with the meaningful liturgy in the evening. A good number of devotees attended the Eucharistic celebration. Thereafter, a meaningful Dance Drama was displayed by the Brothers of St. Charles Seminary and boys and girls of Rosary Parish directed by Fr. Biju Sebastian, O.P,. The Dance Drama depicted the creation story of the universe as well as the life of Jesus from the Annunciation to Ascension. In fact, this play led the people to have faith in God who is Almighty and Powerful and also gave the message of God’s love to the people through His only Son Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, 12 February was the day for the Marian devotees who came from different parts of India with great intention and hope to have Darshan (visit) of Mother Mary who could intercede to her Son for all their needs and petitions. In the morning hour, the Eucharistic celebration was offered in many languages such as in Marathi, Hindi, English, Konkani, Malayalam and Telugu. Thousands of people attended the Holy Mass in the evening. The Archbishop Rt.Rev. Abraham Viruthankulangra was the main celebrant of the day who fed the devotees with his inspiring homily. After the mass, Rosary procession was held in which a big number of believers participated with candlelight. The procession went on at least one and half hour and concluded around 8.30p.m. Above all, everything went on very well by the intercession of Mother Mary.
